We also evolved from shipping materials to multiple locations to now supporting them in their custom-built facility in Melbourne.

20 years of innovation 

One key area of our collaboration is the development and supply of educational manikins and teeth, which are critical for practical dental training. Previously, manikins were made of heavier metal components and were difficult to transport and use in various educational settings. Recognising the need for a more practical solution, we innovated a newer, lightweight model that is easier to transport, handle and set up while still maintaining all the essential features for effective training and education.

Over the years, we’ve navigated numerous challenges, from the logistical complexities of delivering highly specialised exam products on a precise schedule—neither too early nor too late—to external factors like a global pandemic and internal business changes. Through it all, effective communication and mutual understanding between One Dental and ADC have driven our success.

A significant part of our collaboration involves developing specialised products for exams, exclusive to the ADC. To maintain the integrity and security of testing and accreditation processes, these products are kept in a separate, confidential area within our facility. Tailored precisely to the ADC’s specifications and standards, exam-specific items ensure candidates are evaluated fairly and consistently across the board. Our CEO, Joanne Stanbury, personally oversees quality control, ensuring that each item leaving our facility meets exacting standards and addresses anything that doesn’t conform.

What the future holds

In the coming years, we plan to further enhance our product range and expand our services, including our e-commerce platform and dental vending machines. We are committed to inclusivity and have responded to the ADC’s request for training materials that feature Indigenous skin tones by developing and refining our Indigenous-focused training masks. Our manikins coming in three distinct skin tones and feature a realistic jaw structure. Developing cultural competence is crucial for delivering effective care to diverse populations, and we are proud to continue leading the way in this important area.
