Description: The Open Wide Disposable (OWD) Mouth Props, disposable, single patient use "foam" mouth props that assist in providing oral care for those who have difficulty in keeping their mouths open or have biting tendencies.Together with the Surround Toothbrush (STB) they facilitate providing oral hygiene for those who have difficulty maintaining an open mouth or cooperating during brushing; there are two sizes: Open Wide Disposable Mouth Prop (OWD) standard width Open Wide Disposable Mouth Prop (OWDT), thick; 40% 'thicker' / denser foam for those with aggressive bites. Wedge shaped head accommodates most patients mouths and can be positioned sideways or flat if oral opening is limited by physical or behavioural issues. Made from a special high density foam with rigid inner wooden core to add stability and strength, making it difficul t to bite through. Graduated wedge design has long, easy to grip foam padded handle for stability, control & comfort. Durable, user friendly and highly effective in maintaining oral access making oral care safer for both patient and clinician / carer. Handle end can be used for cheek retraction to facilitate oral assessment. Mouth Prop can be cleaned in a dishwasher or hot water for reuse with same patient and replaced as needed. Available in a standard size 15.5 cm x 1. 0 cm or thick version 15.5cm x 1.4 cm , which has 40% more foam to withstand more forceful biting pressure in those with aggressive biting tendencies. props are individually wrapped.
